John has also worked as an ESL teacher and has communication skills in French, Mandarin, and Japanese. When John is not working hard to keep the Yacht running and look-ing pristine, he enjoys surfing, obtaining knowledge in languages and cultures, and is a specialist in fine wine, gourmet cuisine, and cocktailing. After obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Ryerson University John travelled exten-sively to over forty countries, working primarily in high level cocktail lounges and four star hotels internation-ally before joining the yachting industry. John was born in Toronto, Canada and grew up in Sydney, Australia in the eastern suburbs of Bondi Beach. ![]() John Hrivnak A.K.A Johnny Blonde - Deckhand/ Steward When David is not working, he enjoys water sports and spending time with his 3 year old daughter and family. David can provide information about Central America in English or Spanish, as he is a specialist in flora, fauna, and wildlife. David has worked on large crew ships and private yachts for over 10 years, serving as a naturalist tour guide to his guests. In the evenings when the day has come to a close, you might find Michael relaxing somewhere with his acoustic guitar in hand contemplating whether his next adventure will be on a snowboard, a kiteboard, a mountain bike or possibly just a day on the golf course, all things that keep him motivated to work hard and play hard!ĭavid was born in San Jose, and a local to the Costa Rican Pacific coast. It is those challenges that keep Michael motivated to work together with his team to create an unforgettable experience for his guests. Working in various capacities ranging from deckhand to engineer to captain, has given him a great understanding and appreciation for the standards and service required to manage a first class charter operation. With over 10 years experience in the industry, he has worked onboard some the most recognizable charter yachts in the market today. He then joined the yachting industry in 2002 and has since had the opportunity to travel the world's oceans from the North and Baltic Sea to the warmer waters of the Mediterranean, the Caribbean the South Pacific but none have captured his heart like that of his home harbor of Sydney where he plans to someday return by Catamaran, in true sailor form, with his lady love as his first mate! Michael would later join the team of Warren Yachts and other various custom boat builders throughout Europe before deciding it was time to get back on the water. With a strong passion and skill for design, Michael dedicated his next few years to honing his skills as a shipwright with Oyster yachts, known for their dynamic design of some of the world's most elegant and timeless sailing yachts. After a receiving a formal education as a mechanical engineer and pursuing a career as a 3D product designer, he decided that his skills and ability to self-motivate would be better put to use in a business and environment where he was able to think outside the box, learning and growing along with the projects with which he took part, a balance he was unable to find amongst the more formal, traditional corporations and larger companies pursuing his skillset. Whether he's surfing, diving, fishing, wake boarding or out for a day sail in his home harbor of Sydney, Australia, it's safe to say that Michael is at home when he's in and around the water. ![]()
